Virgil G. Kalies, 83, Morrison, passed away peacefully Wednesday March 28, 2018. He was born January 19, 1935 to the late Gustave and Norma (Nohr) Kalies. Virgil was a veteran of the U.S. Army. On December 6, 1958 he married Judy Heyn. He retired from Brillion Iron Works, he and Judy then wintered in Marco Island, Florida for many years. Virgil was a member of the Way-Morr Lions and a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, Morrison. He is survived by his wife Judy, as well as many brothers in law and sisters in law, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant son Mark Kalies and his parents. Friends may call after 9:00AM Tuesday April 3, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church, Morrison, until time of service at 11:00AM with Pastor Randy Ott officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. NICKEL FUNERAL HOME, Morrison is assisting the family with arrangements. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be given to either Zion Lutheran Church or Zion Lutheran School in Virgil's memory.
