Thomas "Tom" James Behling, Age 83 of De Pere, WI. passed away peacefully Sunday November 3, 2024
Tom was born April 12,1941 in Milwaukee WI to Leonard and Ruth Behling. On November 3rd 1962 he married Darleen (nee Rahn). Together they celebrated 62 years of marriage, raised 5 children and fostered many young children over the years.
Tom was a mechanical designer for Paper Converting for 30 years. He retired at the age of 59 and moved to the Northwoods of Michigan. Together Tom and Darleen enjoyed many trips to Lake Superior enjoying picnic lunches on the shore. Together they took in all the sites of the U.P in search for waterfalls along the way. Tom was and avid fisherman and hunter always in search of that next BIG one. Tom also loved taking his grandsons musky fishing and on hunting trips. He was also actively involved in his church, both for Hope Lutheran in Land O Lakes WI and Zion Wayside where he served as a Trustee.
Tom is survived by his wife Darleen, four children Richard Behling, Lesa Klug, Scott (Nancy) Behling, Kevin Behling (fiancée Nikki Schwahn). Eleven Grandchildren Jake (Alysha) Klug, Katie (Stephen) Sielaff, Michelle (Jake) Eis, Joshua (Samantha) Behling, Mitchell Behling (Breanna Boehm), Liz and Kayla Behling, Faith (Brock) Koch, Isaiah Behling, Amber Seigfreid, Emma Behling and 10 Great- Grandchildren.
Further survived by one sister Kathleen (Jim) Geissner, Brother-in-law Alan (Wendy) Rahn, and sister-in-law Janice Rahn-Sheahan.
He was preceded in death by parents Leonard & Ruth Behling, Frank and Lorraine Rahn, daughter Juliann Behling, Son- in-law Rudy Klug, grand-daughter Missy Raither, brothers-in-law Herbert Brandt, Wilmer Rahn, Sisters-in-law Dorothy Rahn, Florence Brandt-Wegner and many aunts and uncles.
Family and friends may call at Zion Lutheran Church, Wayside on Sunday, November 17, 2024, from 1:00PM until time of service at 2:00PM with Pastor Kyle Wangelin officiating. Nickel Funeral Home, Morrison is assisting the family.
A special thank you to Unity Hospice and especially to Sarah at Bayfield Hospice for the years of care when Tom's health declined in 2020.
