Obituary

Ruth L. Pantzlaff, 96, Kaukauna went peacefully to her heavenly home Friday, August 16, 2024, while residing at St. Paul's Elder Care where she had wonderful relationships with those around her. .She was born August 25, 1927, in the Town of Rockland, Wisconsin. On September 25, 1948, the former Ruth Edinger married Herbert Pantzlaff, her husband of 50 years in Shirley.

Throughout her life she had a knack for making friends with neighbors and others. She was always gracious and polite and fought through difficulties without complaint. Her smile was her trademark.

Ruth always kept herself very busy cooking; baking yummy cinnamon rolls, homemade bread, and other goodies; tending a large garden of flowers and vegetables while canning almost everything; and keeping her children busy and out of trouble. But she felt most satisfied when at the end of the day she was "bushed" as she said.

Outside the home, Ruth worked at Eilers cheese factory for many years cutting and wrapping cheese and tending the store.

Ruth's favorite holiday was Christmas and all that surrounded it, including collecting holiday ornaments as well as making candies and cookies. She was especially known for her famous pfeffernusse and her "Clara" cookies. Ruth very much enjoyed sewing and made many tree skirts, intricate quilted wall hangings, and Christmas stockings that were shared with friends and family.

During her later years she thoroughly enjoyed taking care of her many pets, making sure they were groomed and well fed. She enjoyed watching the activity at the birdfeeders outside her window as well as the birds in St. Paul's Aviary room.

Ruth is survived by her children; David (Joyce) Pantzlaff, Dale (Vicki) Pantzlaff, and Doreen (Joe) Krull. Her five grandchildren; Matthew (Beth) Pantzlaff, Shawn (Heather) Pantzlaff, Jeremy (Alex) Pantzlaff, Megan Pantzlaff, and Bailee (Trae) McNair. Five great grandchildren; Parker, Piper, Cooper, Noah, Hannah, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herbert, granddaughter Melanie Pantzlaff, as well as her siblings; Alvin (Frances) Edinger, Norbert (Pat) Edinger, Clarence Edinger, Art (Leona) Edinger, Linda (Edward) Jahnke, and Verna (Gilbert) Brandenburg.
