It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Peter D. McGrath, who passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024, at the age of 79. Peter was born on June 11, 1945, in De Pere, Wisconsin, and lived a life filled with purpose, passion, and love.

Peter graduated from West Bend High School in 1963, where he was a proud member of the debate team and the swim team, showcasing his sharp mind and athletic spirit. He continued his education at Whitewater State University, where he cultivated friendships and skills that shaped his future.

Peter followed his passion for cooking and pursued a lifelong career in the restaurant business, delighting countless people with his culinary expertise and warm hospitality. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Peter had a deep love for history, particularly European history, and was an avid reader of the past. He also found great joy in classical music, which brought peace and inspiration to his life.

Peter is survived by his siblings: Tom, Michael, Susan, Tim, and Jill, as well as many extended family members and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Ansel McGrath and Eloise McGrath, with whom he will now rest eternally.

A memorial service to honor Peter's life will be scheduled for May of 2025. His final resting place will be in the family plot at Fairview Cemetery in Sherry, Wisconsin, beside his beloved parents.

In Peter's memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Red Cross, an organization whose mission to provide care and support to those in need aligns with Peter's generous and compassionate spirit.

Peter's kindness, curiosity, and love for life will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of calling him friend.
