Obituary

Life of Naomi Marie (nee Nickel) Rimple born December 14, 1932 completed earthly existence Monday, September 11, 2023. Her birth took place at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay, followed by baptism, confirmation, and marriage at then, Emmanuel's Evangelical Church, Town of Morrison.

When a young girl Naomi received piano lessons. Her recollection of her grandfather, Edward Nickel, requested that she play piano after evening meals. Naomi attended Schink grade school. At age 10-years-old she was enrolled in the 4-H program; and, Naomi achieved in various projects of foods and nutrition, frozen foods, and leadership; and, recipient of the 1950 state award for judging food. At age 16 while attending the 4-H older youth spring wiener roast Naomi was introduced by her older brother to Harvey Rimple.

At age 17 Naomi received her earned diploma from De Pere High School with student rank eight out of eighty. Naomi's first employer philanthropist, Ted Lenfesty, allowed for time off being live-in cook and she enjoyed Thursday afternoons with Harvey. Next, Naomi enrolled in the Badger Green Bay Business College, completed some coursework; and, found employment as an assistant for osteopath Dr. Thompson. Naomi had use of Harvey's '48 green Plymouth while he was stationed at Camp Lejeune. When on leave Harvey surprised Naomi with an engagement ring. May 23, 1953, Naomi wore waltz-length white lace wedding dress. The couple's first residence at William Rimple's farm nearby Coleman. That September Naomi traveled with Harvey to Ohio where he succeeded in millwright exam. The couple moved to Love's Park, Illinois where Harvey learned to service Surge milking machines.

Before birth of their first child they purchased an 80-acre farm nearby Little Suamico. Individually, the couple told of being influenced by the movie "Cheaper by the Dozen" and desired many children. May 1959, they moved to Antigo for a Surge dealership territory. Lastly, they resided in Town of Glenmore with Naomi the fourth generation on farmstead of Gottlieb and Christina (Schlittenhard) Enz.

Throughout years of farming, Naomi birthed seven healthy children, milked cows, operated machinery, supervised laborers and made it through three different farm auctions Early 1980s, she worked part-time in food service at St. Norbert College. Naomi, left the farm with its custom spreader business and began office work for machinist P. J. Mineau, then down town YMCA where she retired after 15 years of service. Retirement consisted of traveling with various family members or friends; and lastly resided in Brillion. Naomi, second child of Ira Edward and Elizabeth Louise (Enz) Nickel grew up in the Town of Rockland, Brown County. Siblings, nieces and nephews: John Nickel (2/14/2001) (Barb) and Susan, Linda, Kristin, Charles; Ralph Nickel (5/15/2005); Frances (Nickel) William Raduege and Elizabeth, John; Carl Nickel and Terri, Randall; and Richard and Patsy (Street) Nickel and Paul, Antony, Lisa. Naomi and Harvey's (5/18/2000) seven children: Charmaine Rimple (Paul Hahn); David (Donna) Rimple and their children Andrew David Thiem (7/5/2002), Shelly (Dave) Carmen and their sons Marcus, Thomas, William and son Nathan Roelke and his son Nathan Jr.; Russell Rimple (4/19/1963); Allen Rimple; Sally Trainer; Linda Rimple and daughter Aleyna (Anthony) James and their children Khaidynce, Kohen, Kylah, Klariah; and Mari Rimple (Dave Clark).

Naomi's life filled with faith and hope always evident when she talked of goodness in lives of her children as well as her, "I think my children all did well in their lives" and "I did the best as I could with what I had at the time." Sad are the hearts that loved Naomi, be at peace children of God.

Visitation: Saturday, September 16 at 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Nickel Funeral Home, 7101 Morrison Road. Service: 11:00 AM with procession to Emanuel's Cemetery, Mill Road; following with noon dinner.
