Our spunky, big hearted mother Diana “Diane” D. Dobberpuhl, 85, Morrison, passed away Sunday morning, May 31, 2026.
She was born on March 9, 1941, to Arthur and Arlene (Wendt) Beyer.
On November 26, 1961, she was united in marriage to Gary Dobberpuhl at Zion Lutheran Church, Morrison.
Diane was truly the heart of her family, always welcoming family, friends, and neighbors with open arms. If she was the heart of her family, her kitchen table became the heart of her home. Many have sat around her table enjoying her cooking, baking, an occasional beer, and much warmth and comfort in the conversations that took place there. Many treasured memories were made around her kitchen table. Diane loved her family, and the many special times spent with them. She had a way of interacting with people right where they were at, in good times and bad times. Especially her grandchildren, she enjoyed talking and visiting with them, often giving encouragement and love. Diane had a strong work ethic, and she and Gary were custodians and groundskeepers for many years at Morrison Zion church. They took great pride in this, and the properties were always clean and there wasn’t a weed on the grounds. Diane loved her garden and appreciated her grandson Zoel assisting her.
She is survived by her children; Sarah (Dale) Rabas, Mary (Warren) Schuster, and John (Julie) Dobberpuhl. Her loving grandchildren; Morgan, Mackenzie, Brooke (John), Zoel, Tiffany, Molly, Zoe (Mitch), and Mia (Mason). Great grandchildren; Kayden, Journey, Tori, Ember, August, as well as her two sisters Gloria Blauert, Lorna (Bruce) Matthias, sister-in-law Doris Boehm, best friend Joanne Hagenow, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gary, and infant son Nathan, brothers-in-law Edgar Blauert, Stephen Boehm, sister-in-law Elaine (Don) Kittell, and her special dog Emma Lou.
Friends may call at Zion Lutheran Church 7395 Cty Rd W, Greenleaf (Morrison) on Saturday, June 6, 2026, beginning at 9:00AM, until time of service at 11:00AM with Pastor James Enderle officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
