It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Clarence “Big C” William Kornowske, who passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the age of 81.

He was born on July 12, 1944, in Bellevue to the late Albert and Ella (Schmidt) Kornowske.

Big C grew up on the family farm, where he went swimming, fishing, and milked cows.

A strong work ethic, Clarence worked construction, painting, salvage, and his farm. He proudly served for over 20 years as a volunteer firefighter with the Wayside Volunteer Fire Department.

Big C will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 56 years Mary, their children; Julie Ristow, and Greg Kornowske. Grandchildren; Nate Sobczak, Dylan (Becca) Ristow, Emily Ristow, Theryn (Special friend Katarina) Kornowske, Allayna (Adam) Schmitz, Lily, (Special friend Andrew) Kornowske, Paige Kornowske, and Evelyn Kornowske. Great Grandchildren; Braelynn, Easton, Emery, Elliette, and Bentley.

His sisters; Verna Smith, Elaine Quick, and Arlene Kornowske. His sisters-in-law; Ruth Aerts, and Sharon Kornowske.

Big C was preceded in death by his brothers; Al Bublitz, Harvey Kornowske, Harold Kornowske, and Bud Kornowske.

Friends may call at Zion Lutheran Church, Wayside 8374 Cty Rd W. on Friday July 17, 2026, from 9:00AM, until time of service at 11:00AM with Pastor Kyle Wangelin officiating. Burial to follow at the church cemetery. Nickel Funeral Home is assisting the family.
