Obituary

Anna Marie (Wellens) Quinnette was born on January 25, 1929, in the town of Bellevue to Henry L. and Lucille J. (Van Duyse) Wellens. She peacefuly passed on September 5, 2018. Ann attended Bellevue Elementary School and graduated at the top of her class. She received an Honorary High School Diploma from (then) Superintendent of Schools Elizabeth Burmaster and attended many classes at Northeast Wisconsin Technical Institute. On September 30, 1950, she married Donald E. Quinnette. They honeymooned to California and then settled in to begin a life where they worked together, every day, in the shop, their entire lives. Together they were owners/operators of Quinnette Sport Shop (later known as Quinnette's in Morrison). Ann's life centered around her family and her career at the shop. A tireless worker, Ann managed sales and marketing for their business, gardened, baked, volunteered at church, and enjoyed water aerobics at the CP Center on Mondays and Fridays. She enjoyed playing cards, especially with her once-a-month ladies group. Ann is survived by five children: Peter Quinnette, De Pere; Mary Quinnette Cuene (Jim Jauquet), Green Bay; Marsha (David) Popejoy, Houston; Margaret Quinnette, Chicago; Paul (Kim) Quinnette, Morrison. They have 12 grandchildren: Jason (Rebekah) Quinnette, Tiffany Quinnette, Sara (Paul) Whitley, Justin (Stefanie) Cuene, Tristan Cuene, Kristyn Popejoy (Dave Wrigley), Karl Popejoy, Madi Harden, Rob Harden, Molly Quinnette, Abby Quinnette, and Jacob Quinnette; as well as five great grandchildren: Ophelia and Cordelia Whitley, Sofia and Miles Cuene, and Quinn Popejoy. In addition, she is survived by two brothers and their wives, Dan (Peggy) Wellens, and Robert (Helen) Wellens, as well as sister-in-law Marion Van Dreel. She was preceded in death by Don (March 4, 2015); Don's parents, Edward and Lillian Quinnete; her parents, Henry and Lucille Wellens, and one grandson, Bryan Popejoy. Visitation will take place from 5-6:30 on Monday, September 10, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, De Pere, with a prayer service to bring the evening to a close at 6:30. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 after 9:30 until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 with Fr. Richard Getchel officiating.
